PREPSHOP in Villa de Bank is the first of two rigorous, immersive exhibitions about prepping with plastic for the end of the world.
We'll work further at our second exhibition PREPSHOP / WEBSHOP in Nieuw Dakota.
Plastic is fossil fuels, plastic is soup, plastic is CO2, plastic is not sustainable. But what good is sustainability when time is no longer on your side? When long-term no longer exists, and plastic is the king of the short term. Just think about masks, ventilators, plexiglass, protective clothing, and safe single-use items during the Covid-19 crisis. In this exhibition we leave the tipping point behind us.
We, Arthur Stokvis and Wouter Klein Velderman, take visitors to the next disaster, as the temperature rises and the water threatens to do the same. Together, we prep for the future and discover beauty in ugliness.
