Art Rotterdam, Rotterdam (NL) 10.02.2016 – 14.02.2016

C&H art space is proud to present at Art Rotterdam:
The installation Odd One Out by Erik de Bree and Wouter Klein Velderman.

At Art Rotterdam, C&H art space presents Odd One Out, an encounter between the works of Erik de Bree and Wouter Klein Velderman. Both artists let their materials lead the way. Without any preconceived plans, they build up the material layer for layer, only to break them down again. What happens if you cut, tear or burn a part? How much command does that allow the artist over the resulting image? And how much destruction can an image take? In this confronting installation, the artists see how far they can push the boundaries.

Art Rotterdam, Van Nelle Fabriek, Main Section, booth #8.
Opening: Wednesday 10 February, 18:00 to 22:00 hrs.
Hours: Thursday 11 February through Sunday 14 February, from 11:00 to 19:00 hrs.
Extra opening hours: Friday 12 February from 18:00 to 21:00 hrs.

SPAZIOBORGOGNO, Milan, IT, 26.11.2015 – 23.02.2016

Squadron Me is the second solo show by Dutch artist Wouter Klein Velderman, following his first exhibition in Italy at our gallery, Speed of culture… in 2012. Klein Velderman will present three series of new works: Revolting Mass, Squadron Me and Now It Can Rain.

The three reproductions of the first World War fighting planes that form the work Revolting Mass represent one of the first machines that could fight enemies from the sky. Eventhough these historical artifacts are already a hundred years old, they seem to be more relevant than ever. If you extend the timeline of these creatures of deconstruction to the present you’ll be facing many complex political situations all over the world where they are still being used. The contemporary air force industry runs from the Joint Strike Fighter program to unmanned aerial vehicles, also known as drones.

VAART, Alkmaar (NL) 30.08.2015 – 25.10.2015

Joanneke Meester reflects on the necessity of the things we tend to impose on ourselves and one another in everyday life. In search of something to go by, she formulated the statement ‘I am not doing anything until I feel the need’. Meester invited 365 artists to convert their personal interpretations of the statement into an image for inclusion in a daily calendar, designed to confront users day in, day out with the mantra ‘I am not doing anything until I feel the need’.
This conceptual and collaborative artwork will be available in bookshops and museum shops in the Netherlands and Belgium from September 2014 and can be ordered online via: http://www.bekkingblitz.com

Triggering Reality Centro per l’arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci, Prato, It 15.12.2012 – 10.03.2013

‘Triggering Reality’ connects the research of twelve Dutch architects and artists. The exhibition will focus on the interaction in the fields of architecture and visual arts which has become more prominent in recent years. The participants will present a variety of interpretations of this new ‘reality’ providing a rich scenario that will introduce the conscious and unconscious relations between the two professional categories. The exhibition will be proceeded by a symposium that will be a meeting point for the leading architects and visual artists to exchange ideas and experiences, as well as to interact with Italian cultural, economic, administrative and business operators. Special attention will be devoted to architect Maurice Nio who has designed the extension of the Pecci museum. A dialogue between Maurice Nio and Italian cultural and economic operators will constitute a significant conclusion of events. The exhibition is curated by Giampiero Sanguigni in collaboration with Marco Brizzig.
