In ÚT (OET) – Hungarian for street – choreographer Krisztina de Châtel and visual artist Wouter Klein Velderman create a performance in which three elements come together: the job of the road paver, the moving body of both the road pavers and the dancers, and a spatial work of art.

Choreographer Krisztina de Châtel has long been interested in what is happening in society. She uses movements that she sees in the street around her in her choreographies. After working with garbage men (Zooi) and firemen (BRAND!) she has let the strenuous and demanding job of the road paver inspire her for ÚT (OET). In her quest to merge the stark reality, dance and sculptural elements, she found an ally in the artist Wouter Klein Velderman. In contrast to firemen and garbage men, road pavers create a lasting product, and this is where the connection with dance and visual art originates.
