Now It Can Rain 2012, performance for three working artists, sewn PVC fabric, wood, sewing machines, 1700 x 350 x 570 cm

Now It Can Rain is an optimised workplace in order to re-shape truck tarpaulins (PVC fabric) by following a fixed system.

Now It Can Rain consists of a large working table that accommodates enough space to fully stretch out one full truck tarpaulin. It also provides one storage space and two residential spaces, floating above the surface of the table.

The tarpaulin will be brought onto the table. Next, it will be partitioned by a team of three workers, into thousands of equal squares, for instance 10x10 cm.

Each single square will now be twisted one quarter, clockwise, around its midpoint. The square will not be shifted nor will it be displaced for another square. Finally all squares will be sewn back together.
